Responsibilities

1. Perform a variety of routine and specialized tests accurately, precisely, and safely, including complex tests.
2. Apply principles, theories, and techniques of medical technology to produce reliable test results.
3. Provide service and care to inpatients and outpatients across all age groups, including infants, neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, on a 24-hour basis.
4. Perform phlebotomy and clerical duties as needed.
5. Utilize quality control, instrument maintenance, and quality assurance techniques to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

1. Meet one of the following education requirements:

• Complete an accredited Medical Technology program and be certified or certification eligible by ASCP or an equivalent agency, fulfilling CLIA high complexity testing requirements.
• Fulfill CLIA high complexity testing requirements, complete training administered by Medical Center Enterprise Hospital Laboratory, and obtain ASCP or equivalent certification.
