Job summary

GILA REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER seeks a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician to perform high complexity testing, calibrate instruments, and assist in all lab areas as needed. You will collect, prepare, and analyze specimens, report results, and consult with providers on follow-up testing.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree for MT, ASCP/AMT registration, and relevant lab tech experience with software installations. NAACLS-approved MLT pathways or military lab training are considered.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree is required for Medical Technologist roles.
• Must be registered or certified: ASCP or AMT.
• Experience with software installation and testing of new applications.
• An Associate degree in CLS/clinical laboratory science is required for MLT.
• NAACLS-approved MLT program preferred or equivalent training.
• Alternative: high school diploma with 50 weeks military medical lab training.

Responsibilities

• Performs high complexity laboratory testing and analyses on specimens.
• Reports results promptly, accurately and proficiently.
• Performs instrument calibrations and preventative maintenance per guidelines.
• Troubleshoots problems and errors with instrumentation.
• Collects/evaluates specimens and prepares samples for testing.
• Reports unusual data to Lab Supervisor or Director and consults with providers.
