Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in MLT or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an MLT clinical training program is required.
• ASCP or AMT registry eligibility is required.
• Comparable education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Examine and perform testing on blood, body fluids, tissue and other specimens to aid in diagnosis.
• Operate complex instruments to test biological specimens and resolve processing issues.
• Follow standard procedures for collection and processing of specimens for analysis.
• Perform routine, timed and STAT tests and recognize deviations from expected results.
• Maintain documentation and quality control data; monitor LIS/HIS programs.
• Draw blood specimens and manage pending work logs; maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Work as a generalist including Blood Bank, Core Lab and Microbiology.
• Communicate with physicians, patients and healthcare team both in person and by phone.
• Adhere to infection control and safety standards; participate in required trainings.
