Job summary

Sunrise Medical Laboratories, Inc. in Hicksville, NY is seeking a laboratory professional to perform high and moderate complexity testing, analyze results, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced environment. This PRN role offers 4 hours per day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with pay depending on experience.

The candidate should hold a B.S. in Medical Technology or related field and ASCP certification, with 1 year of lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or a related field with MT training
• 1 year of laboratory training or experience performing high-complexity testing
• ASCP certification or equivalent
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate laboratory equipment including analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes and pipettes

Responsibilities

• Perform high and moderate complexity testing as part of patient care
• Analyze, review, and report testing results
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement actions
• Work in a fast-paced lab with hazards while maintaining safety and quality
• Maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI)

LOCATION: 250 Miller Place, Hicksville, NY 13469

DAYS: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; PRN

HOURS: 4 hrs/Day Shift; PRN

PART-TIME: Not Benefit Eligible

PAY RATE: MT $38.00 to $54.00 per hour (depending on experience) and MLT $30.00 to $49.00 per hours (depending on experience)

In This Role, You Will

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process through moderate and high complexity testing
• Analyze, review, and report testing results
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All You Need Is

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology; or Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science with 1 year of Medical Technology training
• 1 year of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing
• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
