Position Details

  • FTE: 0.001
  • Shift: Variable (days, evenings, nights, weekends, etc.)
  • Schedule: On-call with variable shifts

Position Summary

The Medical Technologist at MultiCare performs patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, results reporting, instrument maintenance, and technical problem resolution. This role requires a detail-oriented, service-committed individual capable of performing complex data analysis, exercising sound judgment, and demonstrating critical thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Receive specimens and establish positive identification
  2. Determine specimen suitability
  3. Prepare and acquire reagents as needed
  4. Perform instrument maintenance and calibration

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Sciences
  • Certification or eligibility for Medical Technologist, MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP), AMT, or AAB
  • Current or eligible Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-P) certification (if phlebotomy duties are involved)
  • Preferred: Experience in Clinical Chemistry or Molecular Diagnostics for Immunology, or Microbiology certifications (SM ASCP, RM NRM)
