This job involves receiving and preparing specimens according to standard protocols, performing laboratory tests and calculations for diagnosis and treatment, conducting quality control procedures, maintaining equipment, performing phlebotomy as needed, and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Required: Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or related sciences. A copy of transcripts is required.

Required: Current license in the state of practice (if applicable). Certification by ASCP, AMT, or AAB as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technologist. Incumbents certified after January 1, 2004, must complete the ASCP Certification Maintenance Program.
