Job summary

Qualifications

• An Associate Degree (2 years) is required.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of MT experience is preferred.
• State of Florida Technologist License is required or ability to obtain during interview.
• Generalist MT license in multiple areas preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely lab testing per instructions within allowed time.
• Assume department responsibilities in the supervisor's absence.
• Complete all records/documentation for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within turnaround time targets.
• Use good judgment and independent thinking in interpreting results.
• Review pending logs and results; resolve workload or communicate with relief staff.
• Perform quality control per protocol and handle critical specimens/results.
