Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital in Avon, OH, seeks a Medical Technologist/MLT/Lab Technician to join the Lab Administration team. The role involves performing and interpreting tests across complexity levels, with a focus on accuracy, QA, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Meets the CLIA qualifications for high complexity testing personnel grandfathering clause.
• Diploma and/or transcripts must be provided; education will be verified.
• Education outside the United States requires translation and proof of foreign equivalency from a NACES member.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Maintain regulatory knowledge as it pertains to job duties (CLIA, etc.).
• Adhere to quality control policies; document calibrations and maintenance.
• Identify and correct or report quality control or QA issues.
• Maintain instruments and equipment per manufacturer specifications and documentation practices.
• Perform proficiency testing in compliance with CLIA regulations and ensure proper record retention.
