Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. is seeking a qualified medical technologist to support laboratory operations on the night/day shift. The role focuses on quality control, specimen handling, and maintaining essential reagents to ensure timely patient results.

Responsibilities include charting critical values, assisting in training, and stepping in as charge tech when needed. Florida licensure or eligibility is required with national certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the State of Florida (or eligible) in appropriate specialties - national certification preferred.
• Education commensurate with licensure requirements.
• Completion of training program in medical technology.

Responsibilities

• Communicates at shift change and follows through on pending orders or problems from previous shift.
• Performs and documents Quality Control.
• Organizes work to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Determines specimen acceptability and priority, taking action accordingly.
• Maintains a minimum inventory of reagents supplies and ensures adequate patient care for next shift.
• Recognizes equipment failure and takes corrective action to minimize delays.
• Document critical values or alert levels per policy.
• Provide assistance and training to staff; may teach and train staff as assigned.
• Perform charge tech duties in absence of the manager.
