Job summary

Conway Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist (MT) for a PRN, varied schedule in the laboratory at Socastee, SC. The MT will perform analytical tests, label specimens, and prepare reagents following standard formulas.

Responsibilities include calibrating equipment, reporting results, and communicating updates to nursing and physician staff. Flexibility for emergencies and weather events is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; MLS/MT via one of four paths.
• Experience with patient contact preferred; lab computer system experience preferred.
• Board certification required (ASCP certification preferred).
• Flexibility with scheduled work hour requirements.

Responsibilities

• Store and label specimens and perform analytical tests.
• Prepare solutions, reagents and stains following standard formulas.
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment.
• Process samples and create reports; communicate lab updates to nursing and physician staff.
• Follow CAP standards and be prepared to report during emergencies.
• May float to alternate facilities for coverage.
