Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum Pacific West region seeks a Medical Technologist in Seattle, WA to perform routine and complex lab testing and support physicians with accurate results. The role includes handling specimens, quality controls, and using the Laboratory Information System effectively.

The position requires ASCP certifications, a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a lab discipline, and strong teamwork. Monday–Friday schedule with occasional Saturday work and competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Associate degree in a Laboratory Science.
• MLT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) certification required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and samples per policy.
• Report results accurately from systems.
• Maintain supply records and notify supervisor of low inventory.
• Operate and troubleshoot Laboratory Information System.
