Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a capable Medical Laboratory professional for the New Parkland Hospital to support diagnostic testing on the 2nd shift. You will handle specimen processing, testing, result reporting, and quality control tasks in a busy pathology laboratory.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and eligibility for ASCP/AMT/NCA certifications within 6 months of hire, strong procedural knowledge, and the ability to operate and troubleshoot core lab equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Certification/Registration/Licensure required within 6 months from hire; eligible certifications may include ASCP MT/MLS/CLS, AMT MT, BB, C, H, M, MB.
• Ability to follow laboratory procedures and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens and verify labeling and documentation.
• Perform basic and complex specimen processing and testing; prepare reagents.
• Report test results and maintain quality control documentation.
• Troubleshoot equipment and resolve test-related problems.
• Assist with training of new staff and students; participate in quality assurance.
