Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Must be certified by ASCP/AMT/NCA or certification eligible with certification within 6 months of hire.
  • No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Receive specimens, assess integrity, verify labeling and documentation, and enter orders for accurate billing.
  • Perform basic and complex specimen processing, reagent preparation, testing, and report results.
  • Conduct quality control tasks and document calibrations, maintenance, and proficiency testing.
  • Assist with training new employees and students in proper laboratory procedures.
  • Participate in Pathology Quality Assurance and seek process improvements as needed.
  • Stay current with developments in pathology and comply with applicable laws and internal controls.
