Medical Technologist II - Hematology (Days)

Join us as a Medical Technologist II - Hematology (Days) at Boston Medical Center (BMC).

Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Hematology Manager, you will support clinical activities by performing and interpreting moderate to high complexity laboratory tests as defined by CLIA '88. You may also perform phlebotomy or therapeutic procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry from an accredited institution, including a supervised clinical internship.
• Experience: 1 year in a clinical laboratory for Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science degrees; 2 years for Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry degrees.
• Knowledge of clinical tests and standards per CLIA, with the ability to perform and interpret complex tests accurately.
• Manual and visual dexterity to prepare specimens, solutions, and operate laboratory equipment.
• Effective communication skills with physicians and team members.
• Prior experience with clinical bacteriology and molecular diagnostics is preferred. ASCP certification is strongly preferred.
