We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Technologist II to join our Safety team in Indianapolis, IN!

Scheduled Shift: Monday-Friday 2pm-10:30pm; Rotating Tuesday-Saturday 2pm-10:30pm

Pay Range: All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, and market data.

Incumbent performs established procedures for clinical testing across laboratory disciplines, analyzes specimens, reports results, and seeks process improvements. Supports quality monitoring programs and assists with training personnel.

Essential Functions
  1. Quality Control Monitoring Programs: Review and investigate unacceptable results, prepare corrective actions.
  2. SOPs: Review new/revised SOPs, assist with processing SOPs for the department.
  3. Proficiency Testing: Support proficiency testing, coordinate sample analysis, investigate unacceptable performance, prepare corrective actions.
  4. Training: Assist in training new employees, develop training materials, conduct competency assessments.
  5. Instrument/Assay Validation: Assist with validation experiments, compile data, support validation of new equipment/software.
  6. Technical Guidance: Provide support and guidance to staff as needed.
Non-Essential Functions

Only qualified supervisory personnel under applicable regulations may review and approve QC records, as per SOPs.

Minimum Experience Required

More than 5 years of external clinical laboratory testing experience or 1 year of Covance Laboratory testing experience.

Education/Qualifications/Certifications

Must qualify as testing personnel under CLIA 1988 and NY State Department of Health requirements, with options including a Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related fields, or specific coursework and training, or an associate degree with relevant experience.

Preferred Experience
  • 2-3 years of clinical laboratory testing experience
  • Automation and serum chemistry experience
