Summary of Position

Perform daily flow cytometric processing for Leukemia/Lymphoma and PNH testing. Utilize cytometer software for data acquisition of patient samples. Assist with data analysis, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and validation projects.

Key Job Elements

• Sample Preparation: Identify, lyse, and stain samples for flow cytometry testing.
• Sample Splits: Maintain sterile technique during sample splitting and preparation for other departments.
• Cytometers: Identify, acquire, troubleshoot, and perform daily maintenance on cytometers.
• Laboratory equipment: Conduct quality control, calibration, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Analysis: Use software to analyze leukemia/lymphoma samples accurately.
• Fresh Prep: Verify specimen identification and process work completely and accurately.
• Send outs: Prepare patient samples/slides for shipment.
• Reports: Maintain patient reports/folders using laboratory LIS.
• SOPs: Assist in development and maintenance of SOPs.
• Professional Development: Attend educational programs, participate in proficiency testing.
• Quality Control: Follow policies to ensure standard compliance.
• Reagents/Media: Prepare reagents, stains, and media per protocol.
• Safety: Use universal precautions and PPE.
• Supplies: Maintain adequate stock of supplies.
• Other responsibilities: May include training residents/trainees.
