The Medical Technologist II develops and monitors test systems, performs and interprets laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution, with eligibility for an appropriate certification examination.
• Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW).

• OR a related Associate Degree with certification as a Medical Technologist, from an accredited institution.

• OR graduation from a Military Program in Science with certification as a Medical Technologist.

• OR grandfathered Medical Technologist with current certification, qualified on or before February 28, 1992.

• One (1) year of experience in a clinical laboratory.

• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.

• Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening test.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
