Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related sciences from an accredited institution.
• 1 year of clinical or research laboratory experience preferred.
• Certification eligibility after 12–18 months of working in the laboratory (MT/ASCP, CLT or equivalent).
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve instrument-related problems.

Responsibilities

• Performs all moderate and highly complex laboratory procedures.
• Performs routine maintenance procedures and troubleshooting as necessary.
• Performs instrument assays and calibrations; may be assigned key operator role.
• Performs Quality Control procedures and evaluates QC data.
• Participates in CMS Mandated Proficiency Testing and Educational Requirements.
• Follows Laboratory/Hospital Policies, Procedures, Practices, and Protocols.
• Oversees MLT Students Clinical Rotation as assigned.
• Participates in Inventory Management and Optimal Resource Utilization.
• Assists in collecting data for the Performance Improvement Plan.
• Assists in evaluation of new Testing Protocols.
