Kaiser Permanente in Gaithersburg, MD, is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform laboratory procedures, ensure quality control/assurance, and report results to support optimal patient care. The role requires adherence to procedure manuals and proficiency testing, with on-going professional development.

Responsibilities include specimen handling, data entry,-assisting in new method evaluations, and supporting phlebotomy as needed.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related science is required.
• ASCP/MBT or equivalent certification is required.
• Experience with laboratory QA/QC and proficiency testing preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Performs laboratory procedures with moderate/high complexity following the Laboratory Procedures Manual.
• Maintains quality control and quality assurance with proper documentation.
• Reports results promptly to support quality patient care.
• Operates and troubleshoots laboratory instruments; performs maintenance as needed.
• Enter and retrieve data using the laboratory information system.
• Assist in evaluating new procedures, methods, and instrumentation.
• Perform phlebotomy, accessioning, and specimen processing as needed.
• Maintain adequate supply levels in a cost-effective manner.
• Support orientation of new staff and medical personnel.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and dress code policies.
