Job Description - Medical Technologist I General Lab Part Time Days (2506001304)
**$3,000 Sign on Bonus, with required relevant experience**
DMC University Laboratories (DMCUL) is a regional, integrated laboratory system providing services to the eight hospitals of Detroit Medical Center. DMC University Laboratories evolved in 1993 and includes Core Laboratories, Specialty Laboratories, rapid response hospital laboratories, Centralized Stat Lab, Blood Bank Lab, and outreach services such as patient service centers, remote laboratories, marketing, courier, and billing. Our service area covers Southeast Michigan with a test menu of over 1,000 tests, including high-end specialty tests, with less than 1% sent to outside labs. We also provide reference services to other healthcare systems in Southeastern Michigan and out-of-state facilities.
Under general supervision, performs quantitative and qualitative tests on patient specimens following standard procedures. Analyzes results, prepares samples, calculates findings, and maintains records. Prepares solutions, reagents, media, stains, and materials used in testing. Processes and tests various specimens, reviews and reports results, and performs maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. Acts as a resource to other laboratory personnel.
