Job description

Our Client, a Medical Research company, is seeking a Medical Technologist I for their Rockville, MD location.

Responsibilities:

1. Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, test analyses, reporting, and record maintenance.
2. Maintain proficiency testing records, ensuring samples are tested as per standards.
3. Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures according to department SOPs.
4. Review and release test results.
5. Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
6. Follow quality control policies, document activities, calibrations, and maintenance.
7. Follow established policies when test systems are outside performance standards.
8. Identify and correct problems affecting test performance or report to supervisors.
9. Document all corrective actions.
10. Report STATS or Critical results as per department procedures.
11. Assist customers or lab personnel with inquiries, if applicable.
12. Maintain complete testing records and department appearance.
13. Ensure reagents/test kits are properly labeled with dates and expiration info.
14. Review and train on new procedures.
15. Attend departmental and safety training sessions.
16. Participate in inspections and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology.
2. Qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 (published March 14, 1990), or equivalent.
3. At least 1 year of clinical experience in high-complexity testing preferred.
4. Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple procedures.
5. Good communication skills for interaction with other departments and clients.
6. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
