Under the direction of the Smilow Lab Coordinators and Lab Manager, demonstrates the ability to perform a wide variety of routine technical moderate and high complexity procedures in the Smilow offsite laboratory. Demonstrates good time management and organizational skills; interprets data based on knowledge and experience. Evaluates, troubleshoots and solves routine operational and instrument problems. Participates in quality control, quality assurance initiatives and equipment maintenance programs throughout the Smilow offsite lab. Reports to the coordinator problems that occur in the processing.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent with MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent or eligible.
EXPERIENCE
One (1) to two (2) years' experience in an accredited Clinical Laboratory.
LICENSURE
ASCP certification highly desired.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Working knowledge of equipment, instrumentation and materials used in a Core Clinical Laboratory. Must possess excellent communication skills and ability to communicate in an effective and professional manner with outpatient clinical staff. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required. The ability to work as a member of a team is essential. Possess a high level of knowledge and skill with working laboratory information systems.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Must be able to lift 30 pound cubes of reagents as needed.
