Job summary

UP Health System Marquette is seeking a Medical Technologist for the General Laboratory. The role is a .8 FTE (32 hours per week) union position with a $7,500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

The MT will perform diagnostic testing on patient samples and report to the Director of Laboratory Services in a facility that serves diverse patient populations. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree and MT licensure (ASCP or AMT preferred); BLS-HCP certification is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Medical Technologist licensure through ASCP or AMT preferred.
• Requires critical thinking and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver license.
• BLS-HCP certification required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring disease states.
• Reports to the Director of Laboratory Services.
• Handles patient data and PHI in compliance with regulations.
• Works in an environment with exposure to bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials.
• Maintains patient safety and works accurately in a fast-paced lab setting.
