Job summary

HonorHealth's Flow Cytometry laboratory at Shea Medical Center in Scottsdale seeks a Medical Technologist for day shifts. The role encompasses moderate to high complexity testing across multiple departments, ensuring accurate, timely results and regulatory compliance.

Required: Bachelor's in clinical/medical laboratory science; ASCP certification preferred; hematology experience preferred; sign-on bonus up to $5,000. Full-time, days, Scottsdale, AZ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Alternative: Bachelor's degree in Biology or Chemistry with required transcripts and pathway to meet equivalent education.
• Masters in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical or biological science preferred.
• Doctorate in clinical laboratory science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform a variety of moderate and high complexity laboratory tests in one or more sections of the laboratory to obtain results.
• Ensure testing is accurate and reported within turnaround times; document and follow up on unusual/critical results.
• Collaborate with clinical staff, supervisors and healthcare professionals as needed.
• Obtain/receive and prepare specimens for analysis; ensure specimen integrity.
• Operate laboratory instrumentation; perform maintenance, calibrations, QC, and document procedures.
• Ensure compliance with hospital, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain continuing education and competency per policy.
• Assist, train and orient new staff; potential leadership in supervisor's absence.
