Job Description
Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, Ingalls Memorial Hospital, as a Medical Technologist (Generalist) in the Blood Bank and Core Lab department. Here, you will perform routine tests, operate state-of-the-art instruments, and support blood services for the hospital and patients. You will be responsible for quality control, instrument maintenance, and method development to support a broad menu of routine and esoteric tests, including antibody identification. This department provides laboratory testing to various healthcare entities, managed care organizations, non-affiliated hospitals, outpatient clinics, and private physicians' offices. We offer a full range of diagnostic services in clinical and anatomical pathology with various areas of expertise. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity based in the greater Chicagoland area.
*Will consider Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), and MLS (Medical Laboratory Scientist) certifications*
Eligible for a Sign-On Bonus up to $5,000
Under the supervision of the Lab Supervisor, the Medical Technologist will obtain, process, analyze, and report patient test results. You will perform and interpret quality control, implement corrective actions, perform basic equipment maintenance, troubleshoot instruments, and provide technical assistance to customers when appropriate. Continuing education is encouraged. Responsibilities are defined by your competence, experience, and participation. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
