Job summary

Qualifications

• Entry level graduates with an approved associate degree in a relevant science field may be considered.
• Eligible to be a medical technologist; ASCP-MT or MLT or equivalent preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in MLS/MLT is preferred; strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to expand knowledge of laboratory and hospital functions.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates technical knowledge and competence in performing expected responsibilities.
• Perform laboratory skills and maintain equipment.
• Evaluate quality control data and implement corrective action.
• Assist in maintenance and ordering of supplies.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of work/storage areas.
• Teach new employees and students as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, staff and physicians.
• Utilize electronic health records appropriately.
• Provide timely and accurate test results and data interpretation.
