Job Description

Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center, Lab Hartford CT. $8,000 sign-on bonus.

Employment Type: Full-time

Shift: Evening Shift

You will be responsible for performing and reporting a wide range of routine and complex analyses in all sections of the clinical laboratory to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include developing and conducting research into new technologies, updating procedures, overseeing processes, and teaching lab personnel and students.

Responsibilities
  • Determine normal and abnormal components of body fluids through chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
  • Analyze blood cells using microscopic techniques.
  • Ensure proper operation of laboratory equipment through calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and evaluation of new technologies.
Position Details
  • Hours: 40 hours, Evening shifts (3-11:30 pm), rotating weekends and holidays.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited institution and successful completion of an NAACLS-accredited MT program or MLT, or CLA certification program.
  • MT-ASCP or CLA (NCA) level certification, or eligibility to take the certification exam within the first year of employment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, technical competence, adaptability, good command of English and medical terminology.
  • New graduates are welcome.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
