Responsibilities

• Determine the suitability of samples and reagents, identify errors in matching patient samples and results.
• Report test results promptly and communicate critical values to physicians and nursing units.
• Review outstanding work lists and follow up on specimens.
• Perform and record all Quality Control procedures.
• Perform manual procedures, body fluids, urinalysis, and all Blood Bank testing including type and screen, cross matches, and routine antibody testing.
• Send out specimens to reference laboratories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related science.
• NYSED license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist OR NYSED Provisional Permit as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
