RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform high-complexity testing in the Lab MMC Clinical Pathology unit in New Jersey. The role requires meticulous attention to regulatory standards and the ability to interpret complex results to support clinical decision-making.

Responsibilities include instrument calibration, troubleshooting, quality control, SOP updates, mentoring staff, and ensuring proper specimen handling and waste disposal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, biology, or related field.
• ASCP or AMT MT/MLS certification preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in high-complexity laboratory testing preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of complex laboratory testing methodologies.
• Advanced instrument calibration and maintenance skills.
• Regulatory and accreditation requirements awareness.
• Ability to analyze and validate laboratory results.
• Ability to train and mentor staff; strong communication.

• Investigates abnormal or inconsistent test results and determines root cause.

• Maintains inventory and appropriate storage conditions.
• Handles and disposes reagents, chemicals, and medical waste according to safety standards.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Pay Range: $39.52 - $50.45 per hour

Bachelor s degree in medical laboratory science, biology, or a related field,

Certification by ASCP or AMT as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) preferred,

Preferred : 1-3 years of experience performing moderate to high complexity laboratory testing,

• Advanced knowledge of complex laboratory testing methodologies,
• Advanced skill in instrument calibration and maintenance,
• Intermediate knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements,
• Advanced ability to analyze and validate laboratory results,
• Intermediate ability to train and mentor staff,
• Advanced problem-solving skills for complex laboratory issues
