Job summary

Medical Center SE Texas Port Arthur is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform and supervise clinical laboratory procedures under supervision. You will provide accurate test results, ensure quality control, and adhere to hospital standards of care.

Minimum requirements include an Associate degree with Bachelor's preferred and MT certification (ASCP/AMT) or equivalent; CLIA qualification for high complexity testing is required. Prior lab experience is preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services and the direct supervision of a Medical Technologist Coordinator, the Medical Technologist provides clinical laboratory services to patients in accordance with accepted practices and Departmental and Hospital standards of care.

1. Minimum Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred and completion of approved training program for Medical Technologist with MT (ASCP or AMT) certification or equivalent.
2. Must be CLIA qualified for high complexity testing.
3. Previous experience in clinical laboratory preferred.
4. Certification per unit specific competency (i.e. BLS, CPI, etc.).
