Job summary

Zunch Staffing has a Medical Technologist position in Florida requiring an Associate or Bachelor’s in Medical Technology, MLS/CLS certification, and a Florida license or ability to obtain one. The candidate will perform lab testing, documentation, and quality control, with shifts including day and night coverage to ensure timely results.

Experience is welcome but not required; emphasis on ability to work independently and in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• 2-Year/Associate Degree required.
• 4-Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology preferred.
• Less than 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist.
• Technologist license in one or more clinical specialty areas (Generalist highly preferred): Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing, analyzing proficiency testing samples within set time frames.
• Assume departmental responsibilities in the absence of the supervisor.
• Complete all required documentation related to patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within specified turnaround times.
• Exercise judgment and independent thinking in result correlation and interpretation.
• Review and resolve pending logs and result logs.
• Perform quality control procedures and handle problem/critical specimens or results.

Education

Associate/Bachelor degree in Medical Technology or relevant field

State of Florida Technologist License or ability to obtain during interview

MLS/CLS certification or equivalent

• Days/6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Blood Bank/Generalist)
• Nights/3-12s/7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
