Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a Medical Technologist for St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA.

The position involves day shift work (7:00am - 3:30pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm) with weekend and holiday rotation, and requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology and certification within two years of hire. Responsibilities include performing routine and complex analyses to provide accurate, timely patient results.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent (minimum of 36 semester hours in biology and physical sciences) and up to one year of related work experience.
• Certification as Medical Technologist such as MT (ASCP) or comparable agency approved by the National Commission for Health Certifying agencies is required within two years of date of hire and if applicable maintain certification through ASCP or comparable approved agency.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Director or Designee, perform diversified duties in the Laboratory Section to produce quality, timely patient analyses.

Hours: 24 flex 32hrs

Shift: Day shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm with weekend and holiday rotation

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.
