Job summary

Hudson Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform and report clinical laboratory testing across multiple modalities. The role requires accurate results, troubleshooting skills, and strict adherence to safety practices.

Overnight shifts follow a 7 on/7 off schedule. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and national MT/CLS/MLS certification, with experience in a hospital laboratory preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Current certification as Medical Technologist (MT/CLS/MLS) or equivalent by a national board of registry i.e. ASCP, AMT.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Responsible for performance and reporting of clinical laboratory testing using a variety of automated, semi-automated and manual technologies. Responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of test results, initial troubleshooting of problems, instrument maintenance and following safe laboratory practices.

Work Schedule:

• Overnights shift
• 7 on 7 off

Required Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related field.

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

• Current certification as Medical Technologist (MT/CLS/MLS) or equivalent by a national board of registry i.e. ASCP, AMT.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups (neonatal through geriatric).
• Must have manual dexterity to perform venipunctures safely and accurately.
• Ability to identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results.
• Must possess knowledge of lab testing capabilities for Immunohematology, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Serology, Urinalysis, Microbiology and Phlebotomy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum one year hospital laboratory experience preferred.
