Job summary

Inotiv, Inc. in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a Medical Technologist to operate core lab instruments for clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation and urinalysis. The role requires adherence to SOPs and GLPs, with data capture and QC responsibilities, including manual differential counts and urine microscopy.

The candidate will maintain instruments, review results, and communicate with study directors to ensure sample quality within a fast-paced research environment.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or B.A. preferred.
  • ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with sample analysis in Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation and Urinalysis.
  • GLP knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in the operation of laboratory instruments for analysis of biological samples from laboratory animals for clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation and urinalysis.
  • Maintenance and QC of laboratory instruments and equipment per SOP.
  • Perform manual methods such as blood smear review, manual reticulocyte count, and urine microscopic examination.
  • Record observations and data per GLPs, SOPs, and protocol.
  • Independently review data, perform QC and identify problems.
  • Communicate with study directors and in-life technicians regarding sample quality.
  • Performs general laboratory support functions such as supply inventory, shipping procedures, administration of computer systems or data maintenance.

Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data* .*\*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.
