SEPTA in Philadelphia is seeking a Medical Technician (6107) to support substance abuse programs for pre-employment and employee evaluations. Under Lab Manager supervision, perform tests, maintain records, and assist in the dispensary as required.

Open date 10/21/2026; starting rate $33.92 to $37.69 per hour; union job grade 14. Eligible candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Qualificações

• Must be a CMA certified.
• Associate degree in Medical/Science or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years outpatient experience required.
• At least 1 year in a doctor's office or clinical setting prior to hire.
• Basic PC/medical software proficiency.
• Within 6 months obtain audiometric and spirometry tech certs and breath analyzer certs.
• Knowledge of general medical office procedures.
• CPR certification required.

Responsabilidades

• Perform tests for intoxicants and controlled substances with proper chain-of-custody.
• Inspect specimens for warmth, color and contamination; document findings.
• Conduct pre-employment and other required laboratory tests (urinalysis, venipuncture, saliva, etc.).
• Prepare written reports of abnormal occurrences per regulations.
• Conduct audiometry, spirometry, and pulmonary function testing.
• Assist in dispensing and medical office tasks as needed.
• Provide testimony at hearings or court when required.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness and regulatory compliance in lab areas.
