Job summary

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Technician to support a healthcare facility in Worcester, MA. The role is contract-based, with a 1 day per week schedule (7:30 AM-3:00 PM or 5:00 PM depending on surgery).

You will prepare tissue specimens, operate cryostat, and assist Mohs pathology team to ensure timely frozen sections. This position requires a high school diploma and HT/ASCP certification, Mohs histotechnology experience, and ability to work closely with surgical staff while maintaining HIPAA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an approved Histo-technician (HT) training program and/or ASCP HT certification.
• Previous Mohs histotechnology experience required.
• Experience preparing frozen tissue sections using a cryostat.
• Knowledge of histology, staining techniques, and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, freeze, cut, stain, and mount tissue specimens from Mohs surgery using a cryostat.
• Produce accurate, high-quality frozen tissue slides for same-day margin evaluation.
• Operate and maintain cryostats and laboratory equipment.
• Properly label, track, and document specimens while maintaining chain of custody.
• Collaborate with the Mohs surgeon and clinical team to support efficient workflow.
• Maintain quality control, laboratory supplies, cleanliness, and required records.
• Follow HIPAA, CLIA, infection control, and laboratory safety requirements.

Pay Range: $32-$34/hr

*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.
