Medical Technician – Full Time

Compensation and Schedule

Salary: $20.00 per hour

Shift: Combination of First/Second shift and weekends

Primary Responsibilities

• Promote good health and treat minor medical conditions
• Provide first aid, administer prescription and over-the-counter medications, and triage as needed
• Complete medical intake, including measuring vital signs and initial health assessments
• Maintain medical documentation, histories, and HIPAA-compliant records
• Conduct daily assessment of program medical issues and coordinate with medical staff
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide treatment under standing orders
• Order and maintain stock of medications, vaccines, and supplies
• Designate appropriate referrals to contracted physicians

Minimum Requirements

• Certified Medical Technician or Medical Assistant recognized by the program or facility
• At least one year of related experience in the juvenile field
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 21 years of age or older
• Ability to work overtime as required
• Successful completion of background screening and pre-employment checks (employment, reference, driving records)
• Proficiency with computers and standard department software
• Ability to learn and comply with facility rules, regulations, and licensing requirements
