Job summary

UC San Diego Health Sciences is seeking a Medical Teaching Labs Coordinator within the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education to support courses, programs, and educational activities.

Under supervision, coordinate lab operations, scheduling, and instructional resources while liaising with faculty, staff, and learners to ensure a positive learning environment and timely delivery of activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Two (2) or more years of relevant experience.
• Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners.
• Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.
• Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry.
• Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems.
• Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues.
• Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports.
• Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and seek solutions to enhance user experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling, room utilization, instructional resources, and day-to-day operations for Medical Teaching Labs.
• Serve as a liaison among faculty, staff, students, and campus partners to facilitate communication.
• Monitor lab-related processes and requirements; assist with planning and implementation of educational activities.
• Contribute to special projects and operational initiatives supporting Undergraduate Medical Education priorities.
• Provide support for Anatomical Services and other anatomy-based educational initiatives as assigned.
