Job description

Join to apply for the Medical Surgical Travel Nurse role at CommonSpirit Health.

  • Assesses plans and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
  • Anticipates, identifies, and responds to informational and emotional needs of patients and families.
  • Guides and directs healthcare personnel (e.g., Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients.
  • Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (e.g., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, drainage devices). Utilizes safeguards such as IV pump drug library and monitor alarms.
  • Initiates emergency support measures (e.g., cardiopulmonary resuscitation) to protect patients from injury.
  • Assists with patient care duties/tasks (e.g., emptying drainage devices, ambulating, hygiene).

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of med/surg acute RN experience.
  • ADN or Nursing Diploma.

  • Current BLS certification.
  • Additional credentials may be required based on specialty and location.
  • Specialty certifications are preferred; relevant competencies are required.

Pay Range
