- Assesses plans and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
- Anticipates, identifies, and responds to informational and emotional needs of patients and families.
- Guides and directs healthcare personnel (e.g., Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients.
- Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (e.g., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, drainage devices). Utilizes safeguards such as IV pump drug library and monitor alarms.
- Initiates emergency support measures (e.g., cardiopulmonary resuscitation) to protect patients from injury.
- Assists with patient care duties/tasks (e.g., emptying drainage devices, ambulating, hygiene).

Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of med/surg acute RN experience.
- ADN or Nursing Diploma.
- Current, unencumbered RN license in practicing state(s) or a compact license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Additional credentials may be required based on specialty and location.
- Specialty certifications are preferred; relevant competencies are required.
Preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
