Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical Unit. The RN will deliver safe, patient-centered care using the nursing process and collaborate with physicians and the care team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered nursing care.
• Assess, monitor, and evaluate patient conditions, reporting changes promptly to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments per orders and hospital policies.
• Coordinate and collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other team members.
• Assist with procedures, diagnostics, patient stabilization, and other department clinical interventions.
• Operate and monitor clinical equipment appropriate to the department.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
• Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.
