Job summary

MedStar Health seeks a Registered Nurse for a Medical-Surgical unit in the Maryland–Washington, D.C. region.

In this role, you’ll deliver evidence-based bedside care for diverse adult patients, including assessments, IV therapy, wound care, and post-operative management. You will coordinate interdisciplinary care plans, administer medications, monitor patient status, educate patients and families, and document in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Maryland
• 2+ years Medical-Surgical experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver bedside care for adult medical-surgical patients
• Perform assessments, IV therapy, wound care and post-operative management
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans and administer medications
• Monitor patient status and document in the EMR
• Educate patients and families; collaborate with physicians and staff
• Precept new team members; contribute to quality and safety initiatives
