Job summary

Loyal Source Government Services is seeking two full-time Medical Surgical Registered Nurses to support patient care at the Dayton VA Medical Center in Dayton, OH.

The RN will provide a full range of medical care, maintain clinical standards, and document in the EMR while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care at the Veterans Administration facility. Work schedule is noted as 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with breaks and lunch as described.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year direct patient care experience within the last 3 years.
• Graduated from a state-approved nursing program and ACEN/CCNE accreditation.
• Current license from the Ohio Board of Nursing (full, unrestricted).
• Current CPR certification from American Heart Association.
• Current BLS & ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of medical care duties and patient assessments.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and monitor telemetry.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team and document in EMR; manage admissions/discharges and transfers.

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for two (2) full-time Medical Surgical Registered Nurses to provide services to Dayton VA Medical Center in Dayton, OH.

Job Summary

The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) will perform a full range of medical care duties in support of the Veteran community at the Dayton VA Medical Center. Registered Nurses are responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care while adhering to established clinical standards, policies, and procedures.

Pay Rate

$ 51.94 / hr + $5.42 H&W Fringe

Duties

• RN will be responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, interdisciplinary team coordination, telemetry monitoring, admissions, and discharges, internal and external transfers, delegating to assistive personnel, electronic medical record documentation, patient transport, and emergency response procedures.
• Manages patients with various acute care conditions to include symptom management, Infections & Respiratory complications, Sepsis, Coagulation complications, Urology complications, Failure to thrive, Palliative Care needs, Drug & Alcohol Withdrawal, Dementia, Placement needs, Homicidal/ Suicidal Ideations, & Cardiac issues (telemetry, heart failure, myocardial infarctions, heart catheterizations).
• Provides specialized care for patients requiring post-operative recovery (thoracic, vascular, general surgery, TALC, GI, Urology, ophthalmology, orthopedic, and ENT), acute medical management, continuous cardiac monitoring.

Qualifications

• Required to have a minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years.
• Primary Care Registered Nurse (those with experience in Intensive Care, Medical-Surgical Units, Telemetry and Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Room) shall have: Graduated from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
• Required to have a current license from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• All Licenses held shall be full and unrestricted.
• Required to have a current certification in CPR by an American Health Association Vendor.
• Required to have a current BLS & ACLS certification.

Additional Information

• VA Business Hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Primary Care: Normal clinic hours 0800-1630

Work Schedule

• 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
• Allowed two (2) 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch
