Loyal Source Government Services is seeking two full-time Telemetry Registered Nurses to support the Dayton VA Medical Center in Dayton, OH. The RN will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and adhere to clinical standards throughout shifts. Shifts run 8:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m. with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch. Requires active Ohio RN license, CPR, BLS, and ACLS; experience in telemetry and cardiac monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of direct patient care within last 3 years.
  • Current Ohio nursing license (unrestricted).
  • Current CPR certification (AHA).
  • Current BLS & ACLS certifications.

Job description

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for two (2) full-time Telemetry Registered Nurses to provide services to Dayton VA Medical Center in Dayton, OH.

Job Summary

The Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) will perform a full range of medical care duties in support of the Veteran community at the Dayton VA Medical Center. Registered Nurses are responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care while adhering to established clinical standards, policies, and procedures.

Pay Rate

$ 45.12 / hr + $5.42 H&W Fringe

Duties
  • Obtain patient history and pertinent family history.
  • Assess patients and plan appropriate nursing care.
  • Document plan of care and care given in patient’s medical record.
  • Verify transcription of physician’s orders, no verbal orders are to be accepted.
  • Communicate pertinent patient data to charge nurse and/or physician as appropriate.
  • Reassess patient’s condition and revise plans of care based on identified nursing problems.
  • Administer medications and Intravenous (IV) therapies.
  • Possess knowledge of actions and usual dosages of most used emergency drugs and their location on crash cart.
  • Assess and document patient responses to medication that has been administered.
  • Be able to interpret cardiac rhythms and their implications.
  • Reorganize and initiate appropriate measures in emergencies/therapies and surgical/diagnostic procedures that shall be accomplished.
  • Instruct patient/family regarding prescribed medications/ therapies and surgical/diagnostic procedures that shall be accomplished.
  • Assess patient/family knowledge level, implement plan of instructions and record patient/family demonstrated level of understanding.
  • Operate defibrillator, EKG machines and cardiac monitor and other emergency technical equipment.
  • Participate in discharge planning, as appropriate.
  • Assure content and correctness of a prepared report and sign the document to validate its content.
  • Maintain neat, personal appearance and maintain professional decorum.
  • Consistently, apply VA customer service standards, demonstrating helpful, courteous, and respectful conduct at all times.
  • Respect patient’s rights, including but not limited to visual and auditory privacy.
  • Intake and output are assessed every shift, and more frequently if indicated by specific standard nursing drug care.
Qualifications
  • Required to have a minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years.
  • Primary Care Registered Nurse (those with experience in Intensive Care, Medical-Surgical Units, Telemetry and Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Room) shall have: Graduated from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Required to have a current license from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • All Licenses held shall be full and unrestricted.
  • Required to have a current certification in CPR by an American Health Association Vendor.
  • Required to have a current BLS & ACLS certification.
Additional Information
  • VA Business Hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Primary Care: Normal clinic hours 0800-1630
Work Schedule
  • 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
  • Allowed two (2) 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch
