Job summary

Cardinal Health in Durham, NC seeks a Medical Supply Delivery and Installation Technician, Depot Operations, to deliver and install hospital-grade equipment at patient homes and assist health systems in providing care at home.

You will interact with patients, perform minor tech installs, troubleshoot devices, and keep vehicles and equipment in top condition while following safety rules. Training is provided; no prior healthcare experience is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Ability to safely move equipment up to 75 pounds.
  • Comfortable driving in varied conditions and hours.
  • Able to sit, stand, and operate a vehicle for extended periods.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to use phones/tablets and perform minor tech installations.
  • Vaccinations or accommodations may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver medical equipment to patient homes and hospital locations.
  • Load/unload products from company vehicles and keep vehicles clean.
  • Perform minor installation and troubleshooting in-home (tablet setup, Bluetooth pairing).
  • Maintain vehicles and ensure safety compliance.
  • Use company phones for order management, navigation, and inventory updates.
  • Ensure quality service and prompt follow-up on inquiries.
  • Complete durable medical equipment cleaning procedures at the Depot.
  • Complete training and comply with OSHA/DEA/FDA and local regulations.
  • No healthcare experience required – paid training provided.

Help patients receive hospital-level care in the comfort of their homes.As aCardinal HealthVelocareTMTechnician,you'lldeliver and set up critical medical equipment and technology, interact directly with patients and caregivers, and play an essential role in helping health systems provide advanced care at home.

This roleisideal for candidateslooking to make a difference inpatient’slives,consistently show compassion to patients and coworkers,possessbasic technologyskills(such aspairing Bluetooth devices),are comfortable driving,andcansafely moveheavy medicalequipment andsupplies.

Responsibilities
  • Show empathy and compassion for customers/patients in every situation
  • Deliver medical equipment using company transit van (non-CDL) topatient’s homes andhospital customer locations
  • Load and unload products and equipment to and from company vehicles that remain on-site when not in use.
  • Perform minor technical installation and de-installation in the home(examples: tablet setup,bluetoothpairing)and troubleshoot technology in the home as the customer requires
  • Maintain vehicles in proper working conditionandcleanliness
  • Utilizecompanyphonesfororder management,navigation,andinventory updates
  • Hold self and associates accountable for conducting work in a safe manner
  • Ensure quality service is provided to customers and ensure prompt follow-through on customer correspondence,complaintsand/orinquiries
  • Conductdurable medicalequipment cleaning procedures at the Depot
  • Will satisfactorily complete training andbe responsible forCardinal Health compliance and regulations concerning OSHA, DEA, FDA,Stateand local authorities
  • No healthcare experience necessary – paid training provided
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and havea good drivingrecord
  • Company vehicle provided, no CDLrequired
  • Ability tosafely move equipment weighing up to75 poundswithappropriate liftingtechniques and equipment
  • Comfortable driving in all weather conditions during day or evening hours
  • Ability to sit, stand, be mobile andoperatea vehicle for extended periods of time
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work various shifts oroptionalovertime as needed
  • Ability to usephones andtablets, and conduct minor technology installation and troubleshooting
  • Subject to customer requirements, vaccinations (including Influenza,MMRand Hepatitis B) orlegitimateaccommodation will berequired.

Shift/Schedule
  • Full-Time
  • Shift schedule is 4 to 5 days per week, including at least 1 weekend day each week.
  • Shifts are scheduledweeksin advance,attemptingto provideas much consistency asbusiness needs permit.
  • Opportunities for optionaladditionalhours or overtime.
  • 1stShift can start as early as 7am; 2ndshiftendsas late as9pm(business needs may occasionally require schedule adjustments).
