Job Description:

The maritime Medical Standards Quality & Compliance Associate for Disney Cruise Line is a shoreside position responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality in medical care provided to Guests and crew members. The ideal candidate will have experience in the development of functional strategy for Quality Assurance, Compliance Administration, Auditing, and Training. Candidates must have superior communication skills to interact with a team of medical professionals and work directly with multi-disciplinary departments to develop and implement training programs, as well as evaluate program performance for the shipboard medical teams. Candidates should have ample experience in developing business solutions to support process improvement. The maritime Medical Standards Representative will also support the development and deployment of auditing tools for DCL. The position will provide broad resource support to the DCL fleet of shipboard clinical teams and be an integral part of the shoreside medical team, reporting to the maritime Medical Standards Manager.

What you will do (Responsibilities):

  • Develop and implement quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with all medical regulations and standards
  • Conduct regular audits to assess the effectiveness of training for the shipboard medical teams to ensure compliance with process changes, identify gaps, and present solutions for improvement
  • Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic training programs, including injury prevention and crew health, for medical professionals onboard the ships and shoreside
  • Work with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and medical professionals, to ensure respect of industry best practices
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Act as a resource for overall guidance and support to shipboard medical professionals and shoreside

Additional Responsibilities will include:

  • Benchmark industry best practices
  • Work with Safety and Human Resource partners to enhance workforce health to ensure a workforce that achieves optimum performance
  • Assist as needed in medical evacuation arrangements, working collaboratively with shoreside nursing team
  • Ensure compliance of policies and procedures in following regulatory guidance on confidentiality and release of records

You will have (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a position with increasing responsibility; experience in healthcare management, project or program management, or process improvement
  • Exceptional aptitude of analytics with attention to detail to drive process improvement and formulate long term growth strategies
  • Experience in quality assurance, training, and health management
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, inter-disciplinary environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree, MBA, MSN or equivalent
  • Understanding of medical terminology, acronyms, abbreviations
  • Technical writing skills with the ability to write and produce operational documents
  • Good grounding in population health and injury/illness reduction strategies
  • General understanding of the maritime industry
  • Fluency in a language other than English
