Job Description - Medical Staff Team Leader, Med Staff Services (250002I4)

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Medical Staff Services, this position is responsible for assisting in the oversight of the credentialing team’s adherence to established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. Duties include ongoing monitoring of departmental systems, auditing the work of Credentialing Coordinators, creating and maintaining a tracking system for audits, and interacting with Medical Staff leadership to provide consultative guidance. The role also involves facilitating timely and accurate documentation at committee meetings related to credentialing to ensure compliance with standards. The incumbent assumes accountability for functions outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations, including oversight of credentialing meeting agendas. Provides technical and administrative support to the Medical Staff, assists in assigning work, and evaluates the team’s quality metrics. Supports training team members and performs duties in alignment with Tampa General Hospital’s mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with five (5) years of experience OR Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of experience preferred.
• Current Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) and/or Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) certification with NAMSS required within one (1) year of eligibility to sit for the exam.
• Familiarity with medical staff legal issues.
• Ability to lead and collaborate with a diverse team, maintain emotional stability, and relate positively to professionals at all levels.
