Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center seeks a Credentialing Specialist to support initial appointments and reappointments. This full-time, days schedule role works with applicants, liaisons, department chairs, and medical staff leaders to maintain accurate credentials files and the credentialing database, while ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and hospital policies.

The successful candidate will hold at least an associate degree; CPCS certification is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• CPCS certification required through National Association Medical Staff Services.
• Minimum of 1-4 years of progressive experience in Medical Staff Services.
• Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required.
• MD-Staff credentialing software knowledge preferred.
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, strong computer skills and customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain credentials files and credentialing database.
• Verify providers for initial appointment and reappointment.
• Interact with applicants, liaisons, department chairs, and medical staff leaders.
• Familiar with medical staff meeting management and minute taking.
• Adhere to accreditation standards.
