Job summary

Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas seeks a Medical Staff Coordinator to perform a broad scope of advanced administrative and clerical duties, acting as the initial reviewer for appointments, reappointments and privilege requests. You will prepare reports, correspondence to practitioners, and back up the Medical Staff Director as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of one-year medical staff services; acute/ambulatory/ managed care preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and databases; minute taking and transcription.
• Licensing: Certification as a medical staff services professional preferred; CPCS within 18 months if not certified at hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs a broad scope of advanced administrative and clerical duties with analytical judgment.
• Acts as initial reviewer for appointments, reappointments, status changes, privilege requests and resignations.
• Prepares reports and correspondence to practitioners; distributes as appropriate; serves as backup for Medical Staff Director.
