UAB Medicine in Alabama is seeking a Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist who coordinates credentialing, privileging, and governance functions for the Medical Staff Office. You will review applications, perform primary source verifications, and maintain confidentiality.
This role requires attention to detail, liaising with practitioners and departments, and ensuring compliance with accrediting and regulatory standards. Schedule is 8:00 am–5:00 pm, M-F, at UAB St. Vincent's East.
Under limited supervision, the Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist serves as an essential link and resource between Practitioners, Senior Leaders, Departments, and hiring Stakeholders to coordinate the operational processes and ongoing credentialing, privileging and medical staff governance functions of the Medical Staff Office. Responsible for review, analysis and follow-up of credentialing and privileging applications, maintaining strict confidentiality and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and
accrediting and regulatory agencies.
