Job summary

UAB Medicine is hiring to support clinical teams at UAB St. Vincent's Cleveland.

The role involves assisting with patient examinations and treatments under supervision, taking vitals, handling basic clerical tasks, and supporting materials management in a fast-paced hospital setting located in Cleveland, Alabama. Credential requirements include CMA certification on hire and BLS within 30 days, with licensure can substitute education or experience as applicable.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 1 month of hire or transfer date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
• CMA Certification required upon hire/transfer date
• Note: Licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience

Responsibilities

• Assist with examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider)
• Assist with treatments ordered by provider under supervision of provider or registered nurse; perform select clinical duties
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on charts; prepare treatment rooms for examination
• Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing
• Perform basic materials management: ordering and stocking supplies; help maintain a clean environment
• May document provider encounters; transcribe orders for labs, radiology, medications

Job Description

Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider).

• Assist with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse. Perform select clinical duties.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts. Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
• Perform basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• May document the provider's encounter with patients. List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider. Transcribe patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:
